Utility Arborist Foreman

We are seeking an experienced Utility Arborist Foreman to be based out of our Tauranga depot. The key focus is on delivering the lines clearance works required by our clients network vegetation management programme.

You will:

  • Be a skilled Utility Arborist with a minimum of 2 years relevant industry experience
  • Be safety focused
  • Be experienced in leading, or ready to lead, an arborist crew
  • Be a competent operator of an EWP
  • Ideally hold a current HT licence, minimum of Class 2
  • Have a strong work ethic and have a production focused personality, with a willingness to learn
  • Have a good level of fitness and be a team player with a positive attitude
  • Be drug free
  • Have NZ residency or a valid NZ work permit which is valid for at least one year

We have a full time permanent position for a Labourer (all-rounder) to carry out weed eating, as well as spraying, mowing and other open spaces type works based as required. You will be based out of our Mangere depot.

You must:

  • Hold a Full class 1 Drivers Licence and be able to drive a manual vehicle
  • Have a good level of fitness and be a team player with a positive attitude

Mower Operator

Location: North Shore

Asplundh provide professional, safe and cost effective services to our loyal customers who range from local councils and power companies, to private businesses and the public.

We are seeking a Mower Operator to be responsible for taking pride in and maintaining the grounds in Albany. The work involves mowing of grassed areas, litter removal, edging treatment and weed control and other tasks around the campus as required. This is a part time role.

You will:

  • Have a current HT licence minimum Class 2 with W, T R endorsements
  • Have a passion for the outdoors and take pride in your work
  • Have a strong understanding of health and safety practices
  • Be able to work in various weather conditions
  • Have an excellent work ethic, reliable transport and exceptional time management skills
  • Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in this field of work (and not just your own lawns!), using various mowing equipment
  • Be a team player with a positive attitude

Horticulturalist / Grounds Foreman

Location: North Shore

We are seeking a Horticulturalist / Grounds Foreman with recent experience to be based primarily in Albany with some work in central Auckland as required.

You will be responsible for carrying out Horticultural maintenance duties, including turf maintenance, ride–on and hand mowing, irrigation systems, water features, litter, landscaping, path maintenance repair and cleaning, general garden duties and so on. You will be responsible for a small team. 

Ideally you will:

  • Have experience supervising a team
  • Have a variety of time served experience and/or hold qualifications in horticulture or landscaping
  • Be flexible and enjoy carrying out a variety of tasks
  • Have a passion for the outdoors and gardening
  • Be able to work in inclement  weather conditions

Mower Operator / Gardener

Location: Ranfurly

Excellent opportunity for an individual to ensure fit for purpose quality sports and recreational assets are maintained on behalf of our client, Central Otago District Council.

This is a 40 hour per week fixed term position commencing Monday, 4th September 2017 and concluding Friday, 1 June 2018.

Duties involve maintaining sports grounds, playgrounds and property maintenance alongside mowing, gardening, spraying, weed eating, litter collection, playground maintenance and reporting.

You will:

  • Be physically fit
  • Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in this work or hold a National Certificate in Horticulture (Level 3 or higher)
  • Hold a current HT licence minimum Class 2 with W, T , R

Gardener

Location: Alexandra

We are seeking a Gardener to be based from our Alexandra depot.

You will be responsible for a variety of duties including; weeding, mulching, planting, laying turf, pruning and mowing.

Duties include:

  • Planting, pruning and removing trees and shrubs
  • Spraying for the prevention of weeds and eradication of pests, fungus and insects harmful to plants, trees and shrubs
  • Maintain paths and track surfaces from weeds using chemicals
  • Leveling and racking of turf and gardens
  • Trimming edges, cutting and cleaning up uncontrolled weeds
  • Mowing areas using a ride on lawn mower

You will:

  • Have a passion for gardening
  • Have broad plant knowledge, experience with landscaping and the safe use of agrichemicals and fertilizers
  • Be able to work in various weather conditions
  • Have an excellent work ethic, reliable transport and exceptional time management skills

Burials Assistant

Location: Pukekohe

Asplundh provide professional, safe and cost effective services to our loyal customers who range from local councils and power companies, to private businesses and the public.

We are seeking a Burials Assistant to be based out of Pukekohe, to assist our burials crew. The work is spread throughout various cemeteries in the wider Auckland area therefore a fair amount of travel is required. You may be required to work outside of normal hours from time to time; including Saturday work.

Your application will be looked upon favorably if you have:

  • Hands on physical labouring skills
  • Horticultural knowledge and experience
  • Digger experience
  • An HT licence

Ideally you will:

  • Take pride in your work
  • Have excellent attention to detail
  • Be fit and healthy
  • Be flexible and enjoy carrying out a variety of tasks
  • Be able to work in inclement weather conditions

This position would suit a compassionate and respectful person who is able to work under difficult conditions in a professional manner when dealing with the deceased.

Your duties will include:

  • Being an assistant to the grave digger - this includes keeping an eye on the safety of the public and the digger operator at all times
  • Lifting heavy mats, assisting to dress the grave
  • Grave reinstatements, in other words shifting heavy dirt around with a wheelbarrow to ensure the graves meet contract specifications
  • “Safety supervising” open graves as required
